I don't ask for a luxurious life,
the world's gold or its fine pearls:
I ask for a happy heart,
an honest heart, a pure heart.
Nid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus,
Aur y byd na'i berlau mân:
Gofyn wyf am galon hapus,
Calon onest, calon lân.

This spoke to me when I sang it this morning. I've never been particularly impressed by riches (that's not to say I haven't been tempted sometimes to 'live it up', but it's never been my prime motivation in life). The Bible says 'Blessed are the pure in heart', but what does it mean, in today's society, to be 'pure-hearted'?
